The Transformation of Anesthesia, 1900 - 1960 In-Person
Join Dr. Selma Harrison Calmes and Dr. Merlin Larson as they present historical material from the Arthur E. Guedel Anesthesia Collection that summarizes the fundamental changes that occurred during the early 20th century, bringing the practice of anesthesia into the modern age. The lecture will focus on the papers and artifacts of Dr. Arthur Guedel and Mr. Richard Gill.
In Spring 2015, the Arthur E. Guedel Memorial Anesthesia Center transferred an extensive collection of documents, artifacts and audio-visual material to the UCSF Library.
Free and open to the public. Light refreshments provided.
