Zotero for Nursing Students: Reference Management Tools In-Person

This class is for you if have a Mac with Word 2015 or 2016 or if you want to see an alternative to RefWorks

Please bring your own computer to this session!

Zotero is a free (almost always), open source software which stores, organizes, and formats citations and references in Word documents. Zotero is very easy to use, has stood the test of time, and constantly improves because of a large and devoted user group.

Goal:

Leave class with your computer set up to use Zotero and with some practice in using Z to store and organize info

Objectives:

Create Zotero account
Install Zotero Standalone, Word plugin, and browser plugin
Configure Zotero
Use Zotero to save information from websites, article databases and more
Format references in a Word document in APA style using Zotero
