A History of Neurological Surgery at UCSF: 1912-2015, captures the evolution of neurosurgery at UCSF from its beginnings under the renowned surgeon Howard Naffziger MD to the present day. As the program expanded from a division of the Department of Surgery to a full Department, it became one of the most well-regarded in the nation, known for expertise in every subspecialty, its top-tier residency program, and a rich translational research culture. With over 200 illustrations and many personal recollections, the book celebrates some of the Department of Neurological Surgery’s many milestones and accomplishments.
