Open Access Policy Upload-A-Thon In-Person

Want to make your scholarly publications freely available to the world? All UC employees can exercise the right to share their final accepted articles in an open access repository under the UC Open Access Policies.

The UCSF Library and Academic Senate are hosting drop-in "upload-a-thon" sessions to help authors navigate the policies as well as the upload process through both the UC Publication Management System (Senate Faculty) and eScholarship (all others).

Two open access policies cover all UCSF personnel: one passed by the faculty Academic Senate in May 2012, and a UC Presidential Policy that covers all other UC employees in October 2015. These policies enable scholarly articles authored by UCSF faculty and employees to be made available free to readers worldwide, which serves the public and increases readership for your works.

Who: This session is open to all UCSF faculty and staff covered by the policies, as well as delegates using the Publication Management System. Drop in anytime during the event!

What to bring: The "final author version" of your published article(s) and a laptop if you'd like to upload on site. See here for information on which version of the file to upload. Locate articles in advance and bring them with you on a flash drive, your laptop, or saved in UCSF Box.

Don't have files to bring? No problem; we'll be on hand to answer your questions.
