Nursing Comp Exam Literature Search Boot Camp: Tips and Tricks to Sharpen Your Search Skills (for AGNP) In-Person
This hands-on class covers the features and literature search techniques to help the second-year master nursing students sharpen their skills in searching PubMed, CINAHL, EMBASE, Web of Science and Cochrane. As a result, students can run searches more efficiently ~ Spend less time, but, produce high yield.
Learning Objectives: By the end of this session, students will be able to:
- Effectively conduct PubMed search using MeSH terms and some tips and tricks
- Use MeSH terms, subheadings, major headings and "filters" to refine your search
- Use "Create Alert" to save search strategies and set up an alert
- Use "Collection" to save relevant studies for future references
- Conduct searches efficiently in CINAHL, EMBASE, Web of Science and Cochrane
ATTENTION: please create your PubMed account before the class. Bring your research question, a list of keywords and your own laptop.
