What's New with Open Access and NIH Public Access Requirements Online

International Open Access Week takes place October 19-25, 2026. While open access publishing is not new, recent changes to NIH's and other federal funders' public access policies have raised new questions about open access (OA) and how to pay for OA charges.

This session will address:

  • What NIH's new Public Access Policy does and does not require
  • How UCSF's participation in publishing agreements helps authors choose OA
  • Possible changes to using grant funds for publication costs

Bring your questions and join us for this online session, which is open to all!

The presentation portion of this event will be recorded.
