Vector Art for 3D Printing Online
Recommended prerequisite: Intro to Vector Art, 3D Printing Part 2: Intro to 3D Modeling
Convert 2D vector images into 3D models, no 3D modeling experience required!
Discover how you can convert 2D vector images into printable 3D models in this second installment of our "Intro to Vector Art" series. We will be revisiting Inkscape, a free and open-source vector graphics software, and utilizing its tools to create SVGs that can then be imported into existing 3D designs.
After attending this 60-minute pop-up you will be able to:
- Identify applications for 3D printing using vector graphics
- Learn how to simplify profiles for 3D printing using common vector design tools
- Export SVGs into Tinkercad for 3D printing/modeling
What you will need: Download the latest version of the Inkscape software, available for free for Mac and PC. Sign up for a free Tinkercad account before the pop-up. A three-button mouse is recommended, but not required.
