Bay Area Open Science Group - Shedding Light on Corporations' Impact on Health with the Industry Documents Library
Note special 11am time!
This month Kate Tasker and Rebecca Tang will join us from the UCSF Industry Documents Library (IDL) - a free online archive of millions of previously-internal corporate documents from Tobacco, Opioid, Food and other industries that impact public health. Kate and Rebecca will give an overview of IDL, discuss how the documents are prepared for free open access, and share how researchers have used the documents for scientific and computational analysis, litigation, investigative journalism, and policymaking that protects and improves public health.
The Bay Area Open Science Group is intended to bring together students, faculty, and staff from the Stanford, UCSF, and Berkeley community to learn about open science, discuss the application of open science practices in a research context, and meet other members of the community who are interested in (or already are) incorporating open science practices into their work. Learn more about the group and connect with us on our website.
