Python Background Text Analysis and Natural Language Processing Online

This workshop will be offered on-line over Zoom. All registered participants will recieve a Zoom link after registrations close, typically 24 hours prior to the start of the workshop.

Overview

This workshop will provide a review of the Python programming skills and techniques used in the upcoming Machine Learning and Natural Language processing workshops. Topics will include string manipulation, data types and conversion, pandas dataframes, and data formatting and preparation. 

Prerequisites

This workshop will review programming fundamentals introduced in Intro to Python Part 1 and Part 2, but at an accelerated pace designed to prepare for the data work needed in Machine Learning workshops. Prior familiarity with Python or another programming language will be helpful but is not required.
