AI in Your Toolkit: Exploring AI Tools for Literature Searching Online
Session Overview
This hands-on workshop will focus on when and how to use AI tools for literature searching. We will begin by providing a brief overview of ethical considerations, current research on AI tools, and how to optimize your prompt. We will explore the use of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Versa, and Perplexity to find scholarly information. Participants will be encouraged to search along with the presenters and there will be time throughout the session for questions and discussion.

- Weigh when to use AI and when not to for literature searching.
- Compare AI tools and search strategies.

- Holly Thompson is the Director of Education and Clinical Research Services. She leads a team of librarians who support the education and research missions of the UCSF professional schools, UCSF Health, Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, and Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland.
