3D Printing at UCSF Part II

3D Printing at UCSF Part II In-Person

Makers Lab Logo

Recommended prerequisite: 3D Printing at UCSF Part I

Did you know anyone from the UCSF community can 3D print right inside of the Library? Want to create your own models to 3D print in the Makers Lab?

Join Makers Lab staff for the second of a three part pop-up series, covering the basics of 3D design & modeling using the web-based application, Tinkercad. This pop-up is for beginners, but all skills levels are welcome to attend.

After attending the 60-minute pop-up you will be able to:

  1. Design a basic 3D model in Tinkercad
  2. Export a model out of Tinkercad for 3D printing
  3. Be familiar with resources and techniques for your Tinkercad project
  4. Identify other 3D design & modeling software for more advanced projects

This pop-up is for beginners, but all skills levels are welcome. Make sure to sign up for a Tinkercad account before the pop-up and bring your laptop if you have one available to follow along. You don't even need to download Tinkercad, it is a web-based application that you can use anywhere, as long as you have an internet connection.

And make sure to join us for 3D Printing at UCSF Part III.

Have questions about the Makers Lab? Visit the Makers Lab website or email us at makerslab@ucsf.edu with questions. This pop-up is open to the UCSF community.

When you register for a pop-up, the Library reserves space for you. Since many of our pop-ups have a waitlist, please cancel your registration if you can no longer attend.
