Recommended prerequisite: 3D Printing at UCSF Part I, II or III

Optimize your 3D models for printing using Autodesk's free software, Meshmixer!

Using the extensive set of tools in this powerful software, you will be able to fix, clean and smoothen your 3D creations easily. We will cover the basics of post-processing 3D and CT scans, as well as combining multiple 3D models together and using sculpting tools to really take your 3D prints to the next level. Meshmixer is free and available for download on both Mac and PC. Please bring your laptop with Meshmixer already installed.

By the end of this pop-up you will be able to:

  • Import models
  • Repair holes in models (Analysis mode)
  • Do cuts (Plane Cut)
  • Splice and combine models
  • Use sculpt tools to smoothen

Have questions about the Makers Lab? Visit the Makers Lab website or email us at makerslab@ucsf.edu with questions. This pop-up is open to the UCSF community.

When you register for a pop-up, the Library reserves space for you. Since many of our pop-ups have a waitlist, please cancel your registration if you can no longer attend.
