Join us at the Learning Innovation Showcase on Thursday, February 14, 12-1pm in S 161 on the Parnassus Campus and MH 1407 on the Mission Bay Campus (remote attendance via Zoom is available using https://ucsf.zoom.us/j/403454113). The topic for the February 14 Showcase is the Zoom web conference system. Since UCSF began offering Zoom in 2017 as a campuswide tool, faculty and staff have taken advantage of its ease of use and many features in countless creative ways.

Join us on February 14 for Part 1 of a two-part series to learn about different ways that Zoom is being used today to facilitate teaching. Annette Carley, School of Nursing, Gina Gaiser, Epidemiology/Biostatistics and Kaori Keller, School of Nursing will share how they have leveraged Zoom to support student engagement and remote learners and instructors.  Part 2 (March 14) will focus on alternative uses of Zoom at UCSF in other settings, e.g. clinical.

This quarterly showcase is designed by and for the UCSF education community to create opportunities to explore innovative applications of technology in education. At the Learning Innovation Showcase, educators can come together and learn from our peers, share best practices, see demonstrations, and discover new technologies.

The bi-monthly monthly showcase provides opportunities to:

• Meet others in the community and do hands on activities
• Find potential collaborators
• Attract funding, develop elevator pitches, get feedback from students and others
• Share innovative use cases of existing tools - e.g. Zoom
• Share experiments using newer tools for education - e.g. VR/AR, Raspberry Pi
• Nurture ideas that could be proposed to CET for IT Roadmap funds

Look forward to more Learning Innovation Showcases, scheduled every quarter. The Learning Innovation Showcase is a collaboration between the IT Governance Committee on Education Technology (CET) and the UCSF Library.
