Course Overview

This event, brought to you by the UCSF Library Data Science Initiative and UCSF Bakar Computational Health Sciences Institute, is an example-driven boot camp taught by volunteers who are fellow scientists and programmers. The workshops will introduce the basics of Unix Shell and Git, along with R or Python. Short tutorials alternate with hands-on practical exercises, and participants are encouraged both to help one another, and to try applying what they have learned to their own research problems during and between sessions.

Participants must bring their own laptop to work on. This should be a "real" laptop - not a Chromebook, tablet, etc. You should also be sure to have admin privileges on this computer.

Tickets: $25 (no refunds)
