Basic Statistics With R In-Person
Workshop Overview
In this workshop, we will use R to perform some common statistical analyses. Although this is not an introduction to R programming or statistics, this workshop is ideal for those who are just starting to use R for data analysis. This workshop is for members of the Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center and the general cancer community.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the workshop, participants should:
- Know how to do descriptive plots and univariate statistics
- Know how to do bivariable association tests, such as t-tests, chi-square, and correlations
- Know how to run multivariable regression models for continuous, binary, and survival outcomes
- Know how to perform unsupervised clustering
Prerequisites
A basic understanding of R is required for this class. This is not an introduction to R programming. If you've taken Intro to R, the R Software Carpentry workshop, or equivalent, you should meet the requirements.
Software
This course uses R and RStudio. Please have these installed on your laptop prior to the workshop.
