Libraries are at a pivotal crossroads. Changes in technology, in research, and teaching and learning have created a very different context for health science libraries. This evolving context presents the question of how library leaders can reposition themselves to support research and education to create an environment where libraries can emerge as central and vibrant resources for their institutions.

Join library leaders from the Claremont Colleges (8/22) and the University of California Davis (8/29), as they discuss the intersection between research and education and the critical leadership role of the University Library for this Library Lecture Series. This event is free and open to the public.

Micquel Little is currently the Director of User Services and Resource Sharing at the Claremont Colleges Library in Southern California. She earned her BA and MLIS degrees from the University of Pittsburgh and her MBA from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY. Her research and development interests focus on organizational leadership and the impact potential of empowerment in academic libraries, which she strives to incorporate into all aspects of her work. She is constantly looking for ways to foster meaningful connections between people and ideas in order to contribute to positive and significant impacts on others. Recently she served as the Chair for ALA's RUSA STARS Section, she is currently engaging in conversations with OCLC, as an identified Industry Leader, as they continue to develop the future direction of their resource sharing systems, and she represents her library's membership in various consortia such as SCELC and GWLA. Micquel also continues to develop the award-winning IDS Project's Online Learning Institute with colleagues across the nation, which she co-founded in order to meet practitioners' growing need for best practice training opportunities.
