3D Model Editing (via Zoom) In-Person
NOTE: The Makers Lab is closed until further notice as part of UCSF efforts to limit the potential of COVID-19 spreading within our local community. This pop-up will be held online using Zoom. A link to a Zoom session will be sent to you the day before the pop-up.
Recommended prerequisite: 3D Printing at UCSF Part I, II or III
Optimize your 3D models for printing using Autodesk's free software, Meshmixer!
Using the extensive set of tools in this powerful software, you will be able to fix, clean and smoothen your 3D creations easily. We will cover the basics of post-processing 3D and CT scans, as well as combining multiple 3D models together and using sculpting tools to really take your 3D prints to the next level. Meshmixer is free and available for download on both Mac and PC. Please have Meshmixer already installed before the pop-up.
By the end of this pop-up you will be able to:
- Import models
- Repair holes in models (Analysis mode)
- Do cuts (Plane Cut)
- Splice and combine models
- Use sculpt tools to smoothen
