The Future is Inclusive: Transformative Trends Impacting the Educational Technology Ecosystem

The Future is Inclusive: Transformative Trends Impacting the Educational Technology Ecosystem Online

Presenter: Maggie Beers, Associate CIO for Education

Higher Education has forever changed as a result of the health, economic and social justice impacts of COVID-19, which amplified a national movement to focus on eliminating equity gaps in learner success across all domains. The sudden, and extended pivot to emergency remote instruction highlighted inequities and challenges among our learners and faculty, and it also provided opportunities to develop new ways of thinking about teaching and learning, many of which were enabled by educational technology. This session will highlight transformative trends that are impacting education and provide examples on how educational technology can support the collective goals of equity, inclusion and success in professional health education. An interactive discussion will follow on current and future educational technology systems and services needed to support inclusive teaching and learning at UCSF.
