SUMMARY:Digital Health Humanities: An Overview of Methods\, Tools\, Archives\, and Applications
DESCRIPTION:Digital Health Humanities is an emerging domain that includes 
 leveraging digital methods and tools to critically analyze data\, often 
 from archival health sciences materials\, in the pursuit of humanistic 
 research. As such\, its application can be useful for researchers in not 
 just the humanities\, but also for those seeking to ensure humanistic 
 perspectives are represented in social and health sciences inquiry and 
 research findings. \n\nThis overview session will include a presentation 
 articulating the scope and research opportunities afforded by Digital 
 Health Humanities approaches and will share how UCSF is supporting research 
 in this domain. Additionally\, attendees will be provided with a guided 
 walkthrough of various digital methods and tools used to analyze datasets - 
 including and especially “archives as data” - that can situate research 
 on the human experience of health and disease in historical\, social\, and 
 cultural contexts. Attention will be paid to describing new and ongoing 
 opportunities for researchers to evaluate\, learn\, and apply Digital 
 Health Humanities approaches to their work.\n\nNote that this session will 
 be recorded with a link to the recording made available for later viewing.
