RESCHEDULED! “Archives as data” provide researchers with opportunities to interrogate archival collections at scale using digital tools and methods. Researchers interested in Digital Health Humanities approaches will learn how to explore archival collections data from a number of UCSF’s health sciences archives collections, including those from the AIDS History Project collections, UCSF University Archives, and others. With an emphasis on finding and evaluating “archives as data,” this session is one of two that will orient participants to archival research and digital analysis methods used to work with both collections and datasets derived from them. UCSF archivists will share highlights from digital collections, showcasing how these have been and can be used for computational research across a range of disciplines.
